Business Persons Breakfast

The Fusion business persons breakfasts evolved over the past ten years as Mal Garvin and Michael Cleary had increasing contact with business people as a result of acquiring Poatina and involvement in Radio 3AK. They were fascinated to keep coming across Christian people who were quietly working at bringing their Christian values to the workplace - often in courageous situations sometimes with little support or understanding from others. It seemed to us that the telling of these stories would be an encouragement to others, and affirming for themselves. This has proven to be true, and breakfasts are now held in every state.

A unique feature of the breakfast is that people are not coming to hear a 'star performer', but in fact an ordinary person like themselves. The purpose of sharing at the breakfasts is to simply tell our story, and to do so in a way that as you share your life experiences people will recognise themes that give insight into their own lives.

A typical program is:

7.20      Welcome & Grace

7.25      People help themselves to buffet brekkie or order and take a seat

7.30      Further welcome with outline of program

7.35      Framing of the morning introducing concept of 'narrative'

7.45      Round the table catch-up, each person introducing themselves in 60 seconds

8.10      Person sharing for the morning tells their story

8.25      Responses invited to what people have heard

8.35      National / local update

8.45      Wrap-up, next breakfast date, and close in prayer
