Pilgrimage to Uluru
9th - 18th April 07

Imagine a bus full of people from all over Victoria, many of them young people, sharing an adventure of a lifetime. You’ll sleep in a tent, underground and under the stars. You’ll meet people from all over Australia and even from around the world. You’ll learn about bush tucker and Aboriginal culture, not from a book, but from the mouths of the people who live it. And while you take this remarkable journey you might find that in the process, you yourself are challenged and changed.

The Journey
The itinerary includes a number of stop-offs with historical, environmental and cultural significance. On the way there will be opportunities to meet and stay with some indigenous communities, with cultural exchange such as sharing dances, story telling and recreational activities. You maybe even get the change to dig for opals.

At Uluru
Our group will meet up with other groups from across Australia. The Mutijulu elders have extended a welcome to us to visit the Cultural Centre and their land. Groups will walk around the base of the Rock and participate in relaxed creative evening program, sharing stories, drama, poetry and history with those from other parts of the county.
